On November 4, the remains of eleven unborn babies will be buried by the Archdiocese of Guayaquil.
Newsroom (October 21, 2020, Gaudium Press) — The movement “Babies in the hearts of Jesus and Mary”, the Junta de Beneficencia and the Archdiocese of Guayaquil, for the second consecutive year, will celebrate the “Holy Mass for unborn babies.”
On November 4th at 11:00 am, the Eucharist will be presided by Most Rev. Luis Cabrera, Archbishop of Guayaquil, and Most Rev. Giovanni Battista Piccioli, Auxiliary Bishop, as part of the commemoration of the Faithful Departed.
Besides the Eucharistic celebration, the organizers have planned two more events: the burial of the remains of 11 newborns and unborn babies delivered to the Archdiocese of Guayaquil last September 20, as well as the unveiling of the sculpture of the “Virgin Mother of the born and the unborn,” donated by Paola Cesa and the artist Jorge Velarde. The latter, a well-known local painter from Guayaquil.
Corporal works of mercy
The celebration aims to help families cope with their mourning and highlight the little ones’ human dignity. It also represents a corporal work of mercy, which undoubtedly has a strong spiritual dimension. Corporal acts of mercy intrinsically involve the act of praying for the souls of the deceased.
Those attending the Holy Mass will be able to register their intentions for the soul of their baby in the following link. The link will also be available on the Archdiocese of Guayaquil’s official Facebook Page.
The event will be broadcast on Radio Santiago 540 AM and Radio Maria 88.1 FM.
