Newsdesk (November 1, 2020, Gaudium Press) The Youth Vocation Ministry and the Franciscan Sisters (Angelinas) have been promoting the “Christ Wins” initiative for six years.

It consists of a vigil of praise and prayer that lasts from the night until the dawn of November 1, to lead young people to live the authentic meaning of the feast of All Saints, following what St. Paul says (1 Thess 5:5):
We are “children of light and children of day, not of night nor of darkness.”

Every year about 450 young people from various parishes, groups and youth movements of the Archdiocese of Santa Cruz participate.

Coronavirus did not prevent the “Christ Wins” vigil

This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the initiative could take place in the usual format. For this reason, a week of Eucharistic Adoration was held in various parishes and chapels in preparation for “Christ Wins” in collaboration with the Archdiocesan Youth Ministry.

Eucharistic Adoration with proper and varied spiritual themes

Adoration followed a daily theme, animated by the diverse Vicariates, along with some movement or community that joins the initiative.

The closing took place on Saturday, October 31, at Uboldi College with a tiny group of young people, taking into account all the biosecurity measures. (JSG)
