Christmas ceremonies with Pope Francis to be streamed live, just as they were during the last Holy Week and Easter.

Vatican City (October 27, 2020 5:15 pm Gaudium Press)The Vatican Office of Protocol informed today that the Christmas liturgical celebrations presided by Pope Francis will be without the faithful’s presence.

According to the communiqué, sent to the diplomatic corps before the Holy See, the Holy Father’s ceremonies will be transmitted live, as it happened last Holy Week and Easter.

Covid-19 cases have increased exponentially in Italy; thus, the state authorities are implementing new restrictions throughout the country. The Vatican, in turn, is implementing measures to prevent further transmission.

Meanwhile, 13 Swiss guards have tested positive for Covid-19 so far and are in isolation. It follows the monitoring and checking of people who have been in contact with them recently.

There are fears for the health of Pope Francis, namely, after his face-to-face meeting with Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, Nuncio in Australia. Arch. Yllana tested positive for Covid-19 less than two weeks later. (EPC)
